Default Quick DEM/KLR pin Question

86/87 years use the same pin count and 88+ pin count is 28 correct. So in theory an 87 chip set would work in an 86? Thanks!

To add to this, will an '88 S (or '89) chip work in an '86/'87 DME?

I don't think so. They have a 28pin chip and a different version of motronic IRRC. Also when I try and load my 86-87 chip image using the 88+ setting on my maxtronic it can't understand any of the data and just shows 0s.

it's a minor change in DME itself, just a jumper to accept 28pin chip.
