Default Rear shock bolt

I got new konis to put on the rear of my '86 turbo but ran into a problem. I got the bottom bolt without a problem but the top on is rusted and can't seem to get a open end wrench on it that fits good. What size bolt is the top one? Any other help on it? I have hit it PB blaster a few times now but everytime I go to take it off, the wrench will start to round the edge. The edges are good, not rounded at all.

Use a box end 19 mm wrench on the inside and an impact wrench with a 19 mm on the outside.

Yeah an air compressor is your friend here. When you get the bolt out, take it to the wire wheel and give it a good cleaning, will make it easier to remove in the future.

The top is a nut/bolt. Need to hold the bolt head from the fenderwell and get a wrench on the nut from under the rear of the car...mine came off pretty easy (with a good whack from an impact hammer IIRC)

How ya been man?

Oh, maybe that is why I can't get it! Thanks Sam. I have been great, new job is going great. Just got married 2 weeks ago and bought a house about 6 months ago.

Congrats!! Thats great news!

You coming to the Taj Garaj this month? Or Porsches 2 Oxford? Or 944fest??

Oh and after thinking about how I got those bolts free this is what I did, didnt get it with an impact hammer, had to use a breaker bar.

Take a ratchet and put it on the bolt in the fenderwell, attach a large breaker bar and get it to spin...then put a wrench under the car and get it to "catch" on something (with pressure on it, it will hold) then go back to the breaker bar and you should be able to get it loose now. Good luck!

Ok, I will try that soon then. With the temp in the 90's and no garage to do my work right now, it makes for a HOT day!! I am making 944fest and racing. You should smoke me though, I wish I could get my suspension done but with the house, wedding, putting up garage, the suspension is on hold for at least a year How is your car with your new turbo? I forget, what suspension are you running? I wouldn't mind getting a ride to see how it handles.
