Default Buying 951 What to change?

Hi All, I found a '86 turbo which is in pretty good condition from what I have seen so far. I am brining my mechanic to take a look at the car but it still needs some maintence. Car has 65K.

Here is a list of the things that will need to be changed, what else am I forgetting and what's a ballpark figure for these parts/labor?

Timing Belt
Water Pump
Clutch
tires
flush fluids

thanks in advance

You would be pressed to find a reputable shop that knows these cars to do the above list for less than $3000, and that is if you supply your own parts which would be at least another $1000 plus the cost of the tires.

EDIT: you would be much better off in the long run, to find a 'lister that is in your area and willing to wotk with you on doing these items yourself w/help. Knowing how to work on these yourself it a HUGE money saving tactic.

Join Rennlist. This forum is your best friend. A 951 is the best sports car buy on the planet, but figure your car is 22 years old, and there never were very many of them. When it comes to keeping your car running right, you will most likely have to be the one to bring experience to the party.

Thanks all. As far as DIY work, how easy/hard is it to work with these motors. I'm no master mechanic but I have done my own work to my old A4 such as a turbo swap and intercooler piping.

If you did belts on a A4 you will have no problems with a 951.

for the novice a real pain in the *** but +1 on joining
Great "search" and someone usually has the part you're looking for gathering dust on a shelf
wheel bearings and check the cv boots...they're probably dried out and cracked
