Default Doing a rod bearing install and NEED HELP WITH SPECS...???

I have two questions:
1. Do you coat the inner and outer sides of the rod bearing with assembly lube?
2. What is the torque spec on the rod nuts?

thanks and your help will be appreciated.

Do not coat the bottom of the bearing surface, just the tops.

Looking up torque spec now......

You actually want the back of the shells and the inside of the rod and cap to be perfectly clean and oil free (i.e. brake-cleened). Any debris can throw off your clearances and any oil can make them more prone to spin. Once the clean shells are seated into the rod and cap, you can put assembly lube on the bearing surfaces (i.e., the actual bearing wear surface that spins on the crank).
