Its cold and lonely work, but somebody has to do it. Thanks for the tip on the Motec seminar notes. I'll look into it. I was just reading the Motec manual when I saw your post.

I'm starting to get a reasonable handle on the motec stuff so feel free to PM or email if somethings not clear. it is M4 or M400?

Its an M4. Thanks for the offer. I'll probably take you up on it. The car seems to run pretty well, but until I install the LC-1, I won't have any idea of the AFR under boost.

I think the later M4 had an onboard O2 controller so check in the start up software and see if its enabled and if not the code will cost about $220
this is my favorate widband controller at the moment with heaps of stuff
http://wbo2.com/sw/default.htm the 3e1
the pro tuning option is about 350 witch has anti lag traction control luanch control gear indication map per gear pit lane speed limiter terribly addictive stuff ...

Actually, I've got an older Tech Edge installed on another car. Its a TE-WB Wideband Unit (Vers 1.5). I just downloaded the latest software, manuals and seminar notes from Motec. I'm not sure how to find out which options are enabled on the Unit, but I think I have the original invoice somewhere. Do you know whether updating the M4 software will wipe out the optional feature passwords?

well when you read the notes it will cover it but when you first plug in you will be told if you have the correct software on your PC sometimes you can still talk to the ECU with a slight mismatch of software .
but when its hooked up you will be able to poke around and see whats enabled . and I'm pretty sure one features are unlocked there are never locked again it should be in the first couple of menu layers .

Sounds good. I just installed a wideband in the black (chipped) car, and will take a look at the red (Motec) car tomorrow.
