I am removing the interior of my track 951 and behind the accelerator pedal bolted into the bulk head is a 19mm bolt. It is preventing me from removing the carpet however I do not want to undo it as I do not know what it bolts to.

What is it for and is it safe to remove?

It limits throttle pedal travel. You can take it out, just put it back.
