That seems odd. The small end dosn't worry me much but the big end is an issue.

Yes small end is ok, but what will happen with this clearance in big end.
Seller said that It is safer to have more axial clerance than stock ones.

Many non standard engines in here use them like rally cars, drag racers etc. Whenever there is need for something special which is not available off the shelf PO Metal can do it.

Since big end is wider than 27mm they can be modified to fit to 928 crank. So all is not lost even if width is deemed to be too narrow for 944/968 crank.

Have you removed the crank or did you just remove the pistons and rods when changing them?
If the rods are straight (which they should be, and is pretty easy to check), it seems the crank journals are not centered to the bores.
Does the piston clearences seem ok?
Seems very odd that the small clearence in the pictures are on the opposite sides between the small and big end.

The rods are designed with tolerances to compensate for both thrust movement and wear.
If you ask for a refund on these, they will think you are a dumbkopf.

I agree with them, if they are larger than spec - I have seen TOO many bore scrapes from worn-out Porsche paper-mache thrust bearings.

It seems to be 50% OK and 50% wrong? What to do?

Thanks
