But which catch can? The one from a popular vendor that does nothing but restrict the air as it tries to vent to atmosphere, or the better closed system that allows vacuum to pull the air through the can?

If you have leaky turbo seals, weak rings, valves, etc, you really need a closed system catch can.

Thanks guys. I have a Saikou Michi OCC. I drained it after getting back from Infineon/Laguna - little bit of liquid in there, but it looks like water (i.e. condensation). Small amount of oil in the intercooler pipes, turbo is almost new full Garrett w/ dual-bb cartridges and build-in oil restrictor. Number one spark plug threads are wet with oil and plug is black/fouled. Other plugs look great. I definitely think I'm getting oil past the number 1 rings. I'll keep driving it for now, we'll see how she goes. Burns negligible oil on street, but number 1 plug still gets a bit oily.
