shop in va?
Hey everyone, Im in fredericksburg va, and was wondering if there was a reliable shop that could work on my 951. i need the clutch hydraulics replaced (slave and master cylinder and the line). anywhere in va is fine but of course the closer the better... or if anyone would like a few beers and some financial compensation... Or better still, what would be the local value of a 951 with the 220 option. Guards red with the black and tan interior. two very small chips in the paint. perfect except it needs a wastegate (overboosting right now) and of course the clutch hydraulics. fuel lines and vacuum lines have been upgraded, venturi delete, and has slotted rotors all around. im looking for a 968 if there are any out there. 120,000 miles. bone stock motor. (except for k&n filter)
thanks in advance guys.

I live up in Stafford, and one of my wife's coworker's son knows of a shop with a knowledgeable 944 mechanic in Fredericksburg area. I will talk to her and try and let you know later tonight.

PS So far, I have been bringing my 951 to the Stafford Meineke in Garrisonville. They do a lot of custom work, and the wrenchs there seem very knowledgeable and kind, so if you don't end up finding a good Porsche specific shop, I would defincately recommend them.

RPM in Newington may be the closest P-car specific shop and I've heard good things from locals who take their cars there.
I'll help you w/ the belts soon, but don't want to touch the clutch hydraulics (again). BTDT and a big PITA.

Guy- thanks alot man, i appreciate the help, no matter how far removed the mechanic is haha. (wife's cousin's roomate's uncle)
Jerome- thanks again, as soon as i get this hydraulic issue squared away i'll definitely appreciate help with the belts... im just glad it wasn't the clutch... i pushed the clutch down and it popped to the floor, i was like noooooooo!!!!! but then i saw the fluid on the ground

When I run into something I can't fix myself I take it to IMA as well. Either IMA or RPM should be able to take care of the hydraulics work, though it will be costly. I think they both charge ~$100/hr.
