In pulling the intake manifold to replace the cycling valve (check out the picture below - PO used some goop to patch it together - it literally self destructed on removal), the two braided hoses that attach to it broke (see below). What is the recommended replacement for these?
I have some rubber vacuum hose that I have used elsewhere, but I am concerned with respect to the heat melting it (see picture for type of hose which is described as windshield washer hose). Does this hose need the cloth shielding to protect it?

I'd go for high pressure fuel injection hose (and a new cycling valve for sure). Windshield washer tubing is the bottom of the food chain for this purpose. You'll have to cut the hose clamps off the other end of those hoses -- a dremmel and cut off wheel works well for that.

I used the same vac/fuel hose as Tom mentioned above and had no issues. I dont think I ever clamped the hose on the CV side either because it tends to get so brittle after a while. I clamped the side that goes to the tubes only and had no issues as long as your hoses fit snugly. Sounds to me like it's time to get rid of the CV and get a MBC. Will cost you less in the long run, and you will want one in the future as you start making mods....

Thanks Andre, but I already have one. When I discovered this (see pic) while doing the vacuum lines. I ordered one from Pelican Parts.
I assume I can get the fuel hose at Canadian Tire. 1/4" ID or 3/8" ID?

Is regular fuel line (200 psi) good enough for this application? Everyone says to use the high temp/high pressure fuel injection hose but it is over $6 per foot here, while the regular 200 psi fuel hose is only $.80 per foot.

That's where (Canadian Tire - «Le pneu Canadien») I got mine when I ran into the exact same problem...
BTW the Habs are leading the Bruins 1-0 in the first period. Your Sen's aren't doing so well against the Penguins...
