Does anyone know what the thread is on the front bumper for the tow hook?

I do not know the answer to your question, but if you are going to look for something in a hardware store that will thread in...good luck! Not only is the pitch weird, but the threads are rounded or something odd like that. I did some searching a couple years ago and ended up buying a shin-buster OEM style tow hook.
