Default X-post - My Oil Pan baffle

Here are a few pics of my oil pan baffle. I didn't like the lindsey rivets and piano hinge design, so I made my own using BMW motorsport non return flaps. The aluminum piece was cut on a CNC waterjet. The first pic is poor quality but you can see the flaps are supported on all edges so they don't cave in when being pushed by the oil, and there is a relief at the bottom to allow oil to escape when changing oil (to minimize the amount of used oil left in the engine). The relief is small enough that the amount of oil it will let past in a left hand corner is insignificant.

That is cool. Where did you get the flaps?

How much did the you spend?

Did you sub out the waterjet work or did you do it yourself?

That looks really nice and well designed, a much more elegant solution than the Lindsey hinge.

Are you going to sell them? If not would you mind sending me the CAD template and BMW part numbers so I can make one for myself? I need to drop my pan soon and this is a worthy mod.

I got the flaps at a local BMW dealership. They were $23.50 each, expensive little guys, but I did not have to pay for the material or the waterjet time for just my one piece. I did the waterjet work myself.

I can sell you one, but I won't give you the CAD file
