I can do next weekend. If nothing else, we should get together and talk about our projects... I don't know about you guys, but nobody around me ever wants to hear me talk about my engine build anymore.
And I moved to San Mateo.
I think someone in napa is doing a bbq this weekend with a bunch of 944 guys...

FRporscheman: are you doing a 968 turbo project? Im looking at buying a 968 for the purpose of turbocharging. Got my eye on a few right now. One is in town, old man owned, low miles, and current on service. Only thing is its guards red, on cashmere. Same exact color scheme as my 951. The other ones are in Indiana, and Alabama, local is always nice.

I'm also big on standing around and comparing notes. Have a pile of parts too if anyone needs anything. Last drive I went on with other listers didn't end so well (Danno shattered his oil pan on a rock, cars crashed on his oil, others broke down)...

Im not fond of the long weekend group drives were there always seems to be problems or issues with something or other!
So this Sunday October 5th 11am - 3pm John in Napa is hosting the second annual watercooler - timing belt barbeque/tech session/swap meet! Instructions as follows_____________________
Well as promised it was such a fun event last year with about 30 people showing up John
and I have decided to do another one of these! We will have sausages, brauts, soda and
water! BYOB and of course any parts or gear Porsche related that you would like to sell
or trade! There is some parking for your Porsche in the large driveway, overflow on the
street, so early bird etc..... Here is a map link 210 foothill Blvd. Napa, CA 2nd
driveway north of Elm st.
Featured cars are of course John's '88 951 Rothmans cup car & 951 S cabriolet!
Special thanks for John and Susan's hospitality!

I havent been keeping up with the P-car happenings in the Bay Area. I heard a lot of talk about possible get togethers............ I could be up for something next weekend.
Arash, talk to us about your turbo build so we can make fun of you and criticize your work........just kidding man.....

I'm in San Jose, near Santana Row. I like the idea of hanging out and swapping stories. Napa's a little far for me, so unfortunately I wont make it to John's shindig tomorrow.
Maybe we should try to organize something on the peninsula. I'm open next weekend.

I would be glad to host something at my house in San Mateo. I "only" have a 2 car driveway but plenty of parking on the street. We could meet here and chat then go for a drive... hwy 92 is very close by.
tone3721, are you saying you don't like guards red on cashmere??? My car is that combo and it's my favorite! You have to like it too!!! J/k man I hope you find a good candidate in the right colors. I would pick one with higher mileage just to get it cheaper and you'll be presumably rebuilding the engine anyway, and the suspension, etc. But a nice young example would be ideal.
Yep I'm doing a 968 turbo though. I don't post about it a lot because it seems like everyone here is doing a 3.0L turbo, be it a 968 or a 951. But yes, a 3.0L 8v... I have the 2.7 head, spare 951 engine to bastardize, etc. I've already swapped in the 944 TT, next I was going to start swapping the wiring harness. I still need to buy an exhaust and a turbo, and I still need the block machine work to be done.
