Question What hose clamps do you use?

Porsche has superseded the one-time hose clamps made by OETIKER with regular reusable NORMA hose clamps.

I like the NORMA clamps well enough, but find the one-timers are bettter for certain vacuum connections.

What hose clamps do you use and where do you get them? Thanks.

McMaster Carr sells the one time crimp ones and the tool to crimp them.

And they have the nice hose clamps as well for cheap in lots of different sizes.

Pardon my ignorance, but who's McMaster Carr? OE clamps are made by OETIKER.

Default Oetiker Clamps

Why don't you just buy the Oetiker clamps if you like them? They are available from Oetiker distributors. If you need help finding one I may be able to help. Otherwise McMaster Carr has a nice selection of high torque clamps that worked fine when I redid my engine plumbing.

http://www.mcmaster.com/

US based seller of various industrial bits. No minimum orders amounts or anything, very fast shipping, and half a million different products.

Search for "crimp hose clamp" and that brings up what you need.

A couple weeks ago i took the plunge and ordered a ton of Norma hose clamps through McMasterCarr. I found all to often i was replacing severely corroded or stretched out clamps with the generic type from hardware stores, which damage the hose due to the threaded band. I also recently bought a set of the Oetiker clamps. I am redoing the fuel lines on my car and used the Oetiker 2-ear clamps to secure the aeroquip hose to the barbed fittings.

I would, but so far the stores the OETIKER distributor here in Spain has referred me to don't carry these particular clamps. So I'm looking at other options. Thanks for the responses.
