Okay, it has been a week today since the unintentional fog machine emulation incident.

It's not the turbo, #4 has green coolant visible looking down the plug hole with a flashlight. All the others look nice and tan. Getting a socket/wrench tomorrow so I can turn it over by hand and see if it feels smooth, then will drain oil and coolant. If it looks or feels like there is anything more going on than just a head gasket Lart will be getting an email and I won't care what he does with it.

Turning by hand won't tell all. Seeing is believing. If you have access to a boroscope you will know for real what's going on in there. Sorry to hear you're having problems with a Lindsey build. I hope you learn some positive news.

Its not that hard to pull the head. The gasket seepage should be obvious.

Pop the head. Since you weren't under boost when it happened, there is a really good chance that the bores are good, with no scaring - when the water washes down the bores, etc.

I head gasket is a 1/2 day job with extra hands with breaks for pizza and a beer when she fires up. I would get with Russell, check your chips against any other 2.8L ones out there, see who's been running what and at what boost levels.

So how about that turbo/maf/mafterburner?

Do you know if it's a BB turbo?

I know as much as you guys know, it's going to be at least 2 weeks before I get the car.

Yep, Lart951 is the proud new owner of the car. I hope he has as much fun with it as I have. I don't enjoy wrenching, I like driving, and just tired of always fixing something or other to keep it tweaked. Head gasket was just the last straw.

I hope Lart951 realizes the flames in the Avatar picture were done with Duplicolor temporary paint and were only on the car for a week. The car does not have flames painted on it.

Turbo is Super61 wet P-trim not BB. The MAF is a new style LR 36C. I didn't actually pull the head, but looks and feels like nothing more than blown head gasket on number 4. Oil was very clean with some water in it. Magnetic drain plug was clean.

The big bonus is that I have included all the nuts, bolts, and bearings previous owner gave me from the rebuild he did before he got the car.
