Would Forgelines from an '86 911 fit an '86 951? (YES!)

I found someone selling forgelines (17x8 and 17x9.5) off his '86 911. He does not know the offsets, but since he says he didn't run spacers, I'm thinking they should fit my '86 951. Sound right?

Thanks for your help. Guess I'll have to find out the offset... I was hoping there might be an easy answer like, "if they fit an '86 911 without spacers then they'll fit an '86 951". I think 951 brakes are bigger than 911 n/a cars as well, so I should check that, too.

The 951 brakes fit behind the stock 16" wheels though, so I assuming it doesn't have some funky pattern on the back of the spokes they should clear the brakes without issue.

Stock wheels from an 86 911 do not fit an 86 951. They will not clear the calipers.
If the forgelines have a bit more of an aggressive offset, they may work. Expect to purchase spacers. If you dont need them, consider yourself lucky.

I called Forgeline, and they said their fitment for an '86 911 was:
17 x 8 ET25
17 x 9.5 ET31
Whereas for a 951, they would sell the following:
17 x 8.5 ET21
17 x 10 ET26
So, it should be pretty close, but may have slight caliper clearance issues front and rear. I'm going to try to arrange to try the wheels on this week.

Radially, no, I agree. But axially, I might. For example, I tried to buy a set of BBS wheels from an early 911 once, and the owner and I were surprised to find that the wheels interfered with my calipers, but fit fine over his. 951 calipers are wider than early 911 n/a calipers.

BBS were 16" ?? 16" is entirely different - most will not clear.
well post up you results - but an aftermarket 17" wheel - I will be surprised if you have caliper interference.....

In my case, when I tried to install a 16X8 fuch (86 911 on a 86 951) on the rear of my car, one of the spokes made an indentation in the "Porsche" lettering on the caliper. Hopefully the forgelines you are purchasing have an aggressive offset.
You might get lucky and not need spacers, but dont expect it.
I should also add that I learned this the hard way. I grabbed a 16X8 fuch wheel from the back of my shop and I kept it it for a spare. I got a flat tire in the middle of a rain storm, and guess what? It didnt fit.

No fender problems, no caliper problems (my hand fits in between the spokes and calipers). Maybe a bit blingy for my taste, but strong and very light. The 17x9.5 rear with a 245 width Hoosier on it, weighs only 41 lbs. Here are some pics...
