If you pull those motor mounts, you can get a machine shop to shave them 5mm and you'll be good.
We have the old style LR solid mounts, they were shaved by Chris Cervelli, as we got them off the car I parted - which is how we're running the strut bar.

Hmmm....why didn't I think of that? That's a great idea, thanks!

I could probably take off 10mm right? Their adjustables are 10mm shorter with the spacers off. It would be beneficial to lower the CofG as much as possible.

depends on the style of the mount and how much "meat" you have top and bottom. But, yes, you'd lower the VCG of the engine, which would apply a small amount to the whole car.

If you have a buddy who has a bench lathe, you can do it yourself.

My Weltmeister clears the fuel rail but it is resting on that fuel pressure thingy (technical term) and it's also rubbing on the hood bracing. I'll try some "adjusting" later. Might even give it a polish.

Anyone know if there's a clearance problem with a 968 engine in a 944 chassis... I'm thinking there might be with the fuel rail cover/huge intake.

My engine is lowered 10mm as well.

As people said, the Dynatech stuff is no longer available, but on the last group buy I they were $350 I think? And then another $650 or something for the camber plates. Search for the dynatech group buy thread to see exact prices.

Does anyone know why Dynatech has ceased? They were the nicest I have seen offered and I had never heard of them till after the fact.

I have to lower the engine in my 968 to get the bar to clear so I bought the Lindsey adjustable mounts. I'll probably drop the engine 5mm but was wondering are there any concerns with alignment of the driveline when you lower the engine?

Yeah, the dynatech guys were just two guys doing it out of their garage, they have since gotten full time jobs and whatnot.

I think they only did this recent group buy because there was a large enough interest in the stuff.

I never even knew about em till after the group buy was closed out. I really like their strut brace. Wish they would keep going.

Yeah, I kept skipping over the thread until after the first run was all paid out. Luckily someone had to drop out so I managed to grab one.

Bret, this is Ken formerly from Tulsa. You have a great looking cam cover, how did you get it looking so good.

Anyway, Shiners, you might try two things. First take the 944 bar off the car and reverse the mounts from the right side and install of the left side and so forth. This will shift your bar from in front of the strut and move it to the rear. It might give you more clearance. If that does not work you might try a 968 bar. It fits behind the strut and sets slightly higher.

Ken

Evolution Motorsports used to make a beautiful carbon fiber brace that is NLA. Been searching for one for the past year with no luck...

The racing dynamics brace also looks good and is probably strong due to the webbed inner structure of the bar. Does antone have experience with this product?
