Default checking in...

Greetings old timers, just checking in on the place, a lot has changed in 5-10 years (yep, it's been about that long since my last visit) Can't believe how many vendors are out there making parts or how many sponsors offer great packages for that stuff that used to drive us nuts years ago. Times have changed, for the better.

Still have my 88 Guards Red 951, only now with 104,000 on the clock.
(purchased in 93, OKC w/ 50k miles)

Only ever had basic maintenance to worry about, clutch, front end reseal after belts, water pump etc. and she had great caretakers up at Holberts or more recently with my local SCCA friends.

The paint is now faded, ah those great german paint jobs of the late 80's and the rims need re-finishing. (will run a set of boxster rims while that's happening).

So what do I do now after 15 years of ownership?
Sell it? (make me an offer)
Dump silly go-fast money into it (did) and hit the brand new NJMotorsports Park???

I'm looking for a secret squirrel upgrade myself. Why the LBE if you have a boost controller?

LBE was an early mod...went w/ the MBC and now will move to somethin' electronic, kiss solution AEM, or maybe one of those fancy display everything ebc's

suspension is really my focus after sorting a few of the std issues w/ the engine/turbo/tuning setup

and yeah, i knew exactly what to expect when posting here, support for my addiction

can't sell her when the new track is soooooo close

also is/was (need to check) a Schattenbaum PCA member for years and years , don't think i did the lifetime thing so i'll have to get that sorted...no doubt the DE days are booked solid now but i'll see what i can do

only thing slowing me down is my other track-time habits...booked 8 days on the 2 wheeler at "Thunderbolt Raceway" aka NJMotorsportspark along w/ a few other at Beaver,VIR etc.

as ususal time and money, if only we all had enough...either way, the 951 will be ready and i'm stoked to feel the difference after the suspension is setup

gotta run, the brown truck just pulled up outside....more goodies for the turbo <g>
