You are going to have a hard time using 3 speakers in the door, that are not factory, unless you go with active crossover or DSP. You need to match the impedance of each driver to what the crossover was designed for. Speaker impedance that does not match the crossover, will result in certain frequencies being let through that should be attenuated, and others attenuated that shouldn't be. You might get lucky and have it sound ok, but it won't sound as good as the properly engineered system did. It will be much easier to get decent sound with a 2 way system with a proper matching crossover. My door panels have alpine type r 5.25 and tweeter with the proper crossover. The 3" is blocked off. The doors receive frequencies from about 90hz and up, and the crossover splits it up for the 5.25 and the tweeter. The rear speakers are diamond 6.5 with no tweeters, and they are restricted down around 80-800hz. Mainly providing additional midbass fill, as I want the sound stage and presence all up front. I have a 10" sub in the spare tire location.
