ok...first off i'm running grooved rotors on my track car which i love...i burned a set of cross-drilled up in a weekend and now these have lasted me over a year...I was looking for the grooved ones again (two straight groves cut at chord line between hat and edge of rotor). I can't find them again so if any of you have an idea...please let me know...but i did come across this deal
http://stores.brakeplanet.com/store/...&submit=Search
would OEM solid rotors work on the track...using the PFC 97's...250rwhp at wheels and 2850 lbs with driver. that's a hell of a price.

WOW - claim lifetime warranty against warpage and cracking....... I wonder if they would stand by them. Put some nasty aggressive track pads on em and get warranty replacements every few months

i was thinking along those same lines...well at least if they warp bad...plus i'm running a milder pad...so i was hoping they'd work...any thoughts on the solid rotor thing...i bet a machine shop would slice them for me for 50 bucks

Solid rotors will work fine for most track driving. If you are using something less than race pads, they should last a long time (several years) and give you all the stopping power you need. When you start getting into the agressive race-compound pads that you need for heavy track work, you should look into getting the slotted rotors. The benefit being they allow the pad to "gas-out" and provide greater stopping consistency. Paul Weston at Weston Motorsports sells a nice slotted rotor for about $37 per rotor. Simply having a machine shop cut slots will likey cause significantly increased pad wear.
I'd be curious to see if there is some clause in the warranty about using the pads on the track - sounds a little too good to be true.

Paragon will slot their solid rotors for cheap - two parallel slots on each side, offset 90* from opposite side. They did that on a set for me a couple years ago. I just wanted to try it out...didn't notice any braking difference other than the pads wore out quicker. I just use solid now.

My friends call me a cheap**** and I am always a fan of saving money, but for my own reasons I will always buy the OE brake parts at full price. I still shop around though

No, no difference between having them slotted and keeping them solid. All the slots did was chew up my pads quicker. I've run solid OEM rotors since with zero problems.
