Default Best Oil Filter

Does anyone know which Auto Parts carries Mahn oil filters? Which others are good that have the valve? K&N is $15, and Mahle is $5, not worth it IMO...

I usually order from Paragon as I haven't found an autoparts store that carries them either. I also stock a few spares just in case I need one.

there was a post about a month or 2 ago stating that the STP filter that is usually stocked at autozone is just a rebadged oem porsche oil filter, or something like that check it out

I usually get Purolator filters at PartsAmerica or Pep Boys, unless I am putting in a parts order and then I toss a Mahle filter into the order. Never had a problem with either.

I buy a six pack of Mahle on Ebay for about $30. Comes with six crush rings and you'ss be set for a few years.

Does the Purolator have a valve?

FWI the black filters with Porsche lettering I get from the local dealer are "Made in USA." I bet they're rebadged Purolators.

I started a thread asking whether or not STP was as good as others, I found it by going to the previous threads section of my profile but i cant link it to this thread if anyone knows how, just go to the threads that i have started and its only a few down the list. Anyway i found an stp filter for $4 at my local parts store. works for me.

IIRC Autozone had a "Deutsch" brand that had a version for our cars. Very inexpensive and it had the valve.

yes, the STP filter has the valve...and I never have had a problem with them being in stock - stores vary tho... The Ebay option for Mahle is my first preference too .... Bruce

I can't remember the last time that I saw any decent brand filter without the valve.
