Default Lets get some (suspension) answers in one place

It's time to bring in this beast question down to one place. All should poll in from newbs to titans and finally see what's the overall general answer.

Im talking about suspension and not for low end game or top end game. I'm talking about what suspension company you use and enjoy, not the specifics of the setup it is you have on

Not sure that this is going to prove anything really. I'm sure they all have a good product on offer. Thing is that very few of us will have experience with JRZ's and KW's so not really a conclusive poll. No reason not to do it of course for what it's worth.

Hi guys

I have driven the Bilstein Cup and the Koni setup on the 951 and some other coilover kits in other P-cars and a KW Var. 3 in the 968. I ended up with installing the KW in my 951 3.0 build as I found it the best synthesis between sheer grip and an astonishingly good "residue-comfort".

A friend of mine from germany compared numerous suspension systems by installing them in his 968cs and testing them both on road and track inlcuding measuring lap times. The KW Var. 3 was both the most comfortable and the fastest in his evaluation. Same goes for friends from germany that use the KW for Transaxle Slalom cars.

I can only explain this to myself by the revolutionary valve technology KW uses.
The quality of the product also is excellent.

I only know / have heard about two negative experiences with the KW: Mine did not fit "bolt-in", I had to slightly sand down the lower installation mount on the front right side (which was a 10min job only) to make it fit and have heard of one accident that occured in Switzerland with a 996 turbo S that had a KW suspension installed. The owner - a lawyer - sued KW stating that one of the coilovers rods broke leading to an accident. As I don't know any details about this case and have an excellent impression of KW products I don't want to comment this one...

If any of you US guys has an opportunity to have a ride in a KW Var. 3 equipped Transaxle or even has one, please post your impressions here, I'm sure I'm not alone with my enthusiasm..

Cheers
Beni

Also, off topic but does an air splitter screw up the underbody aerodynamics of the rear valence?

I am a Koni kinda guy myself, but I really don't have anything to say about the others either. I just picked Koni for my 44, my 911 has Bilstein so go figure.

I suppose he didn't test the KW competition 2-ways?

If you're going to spend the extra cash on kw 2-way why not get jrz double?

Well I guess it is really like opening a can of worms here. How much are a set of Motons? What car are you putting these in? Road, DE, AutoX, Hillclimbs, Track, Race, etc It's pretty hard to just say what's the best suspension out there. Maybe if you say what you do with the car and then what's the best value for money v's results? I dunno. I still think the KW Variant 3's would be the best out there for the $ from all the happy owners that I've read about and spoken to.

Here's another brand that I bet most of you haven't heard of. Beni how about you?

don't forget dynamic suspensions out of Canada, the were used on the Grand am cup team that I worked for in 2001. we had them on the 996's and the 986's. We won Car, Team and driver championships that year. (I would give most of the credit to our drivers of the 70 car of Speedsource) Sylvain Tremblay is one heck of a driver along with Dave Haskill, great guy's. We did not have to play with the settings much at all during the race weekends, no failures to boot.

I never asked for the best, i asked for a general question to what people are using, i said "pick what you enjoy"
