Lost 89 951, sorry to rennlist people.
Hello fellow Rennlist members,
On December 5th, my 89 944 Turbo, was totaled when somebody ran a red light. Lucky I was un-injured.
I posted that I was looking to buy a 968.
A few members made solicitations about buying my salvage. I communicated that I would turn them onto the wreck when I knew more. This was my first accident and the procedures and liabilities to acquire the salvage were unknown.
Today a rennlist member sent me this note:

Hey Wayne,
Just thought I would let you know I talked to that
huge insurance auction company and they are all over
the country with 100's of locations! They are also
ONLY OPENED TO RETAIL DEALERS OR DISMANTLERS WITH
STATE & GOVERNMENT LICS.....
So your car will go for cheap to a Porsche Junker like
Parts Heaven who will charge us Porsche guys an arm
and a leg for the parts! Like for instance your M030
suspension alone is worth $2K on Rennlist imagine what
Parts heaven wants for just the front spindles? And
the AOR transaxle which is only in the turbo S those
go for $1,800 on Rennlist but Parts heaven wants $3K
for them. So you get the idea!!!!
Sorry you couldnt help us out!!!!

Dear Rennlist members,
Some of you might remember me from 1997 when I use to run www.UsedPorsche.com, I ended up losing my site in a lawsuit with Porsche over the domain. I tell you this so you know that I’m a huge Porsche fan, and I support community. If I could have provided my salvage to the members without additional personal loss, I would have. Please don’t hate me, I did the best I could with the resources I had.
Sincerely
Wayne Lambright
PS. Maybe a rennlist member that has a dealer license can by the wreck and then help out the other members.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'll second that I really dig the seats. Did the red piping come on the car originally through Special Wishes or was it added? Either way, best of luck scoring a replacement!!!

I agree that is a bit of a harsh response after losing your car. So you didn't know exactly how the salvage/buyback stuff works, big deal. This happens quite often with many Porsches from people not even on Rennlist. You tried to help and it was NOT your fault it happened in this manner. It's the bureaucracy of the insurance companies that is to blame and further the government for backing them in trying to get old cars off the street(I won't even get started on that one).
From what I see in the pictures the car is far from totalled. If this was a track car it would be sent to the alignment frame shop, straightened, rebuilt and back on the track in 2 weeks. Everyone here with cars as nice as this NEEDS to get value based insurance.
