this audi is faster than ferrari enzo.
that's a fact.
BUT IT WASNT FASTER THAN ENZO WHEN IT ROLLED OUT OF FACTORY
and stock 1989 944 Turbo (951S) IS FASTER than 968 in ALL respects.
how come the most stupid questions that can be answered by google in 7 sec. get the most attention here?

I bet the 968 club sport is faster than an 89 turbo from 0 - 10 mph.....

Its not all that simple. spool time is a factor when actually racing. Same could be said for gearing (s2) etc etc.

Drifting
I own both an 89 S2 and 951. I don't think my S2 would pull my 951 anywhere unless I put a hitch on it. They are both great cars. If driven properly the turbo will win. To do this you need both feet pretty much all the time.

na, but really the better driver will win 10 out of 10 times. I've been on the track with a close to stock engined 951S and it's pretty even pulling down the straights. My car braked better but that may have been tires, pads or difference in skill.
Once I got around him it was all over.

You are right, but I haven’t seen any other 951 driver do much better in stock configuration.
But now I am cheating, more HP and better suspension. That is how most win this matchup. In stock configuration, the result is in favor of the 3.0 liter with it even torque curve across all RPMs.
I have had the pleasure to ride with drivers that take these machines to another level, better driver wins.

Stock vs stock 968 CS is faster around race track. At least it was in Hockenheim when cars were new.

On the track it's going to be close as the 3.0n/a is going to have no spool issues and is a bit lighter, but once on the open road with long uphill sweepers and the like, the 951 walks him.

That's so sad the 928 S4 with double the cyl, double the displacement is 4 sec slower than a stock 944 Turbo S. and the 928GTS is less than a second faster.
