A good friend of mine built the chasis a long time ago, 5 years,
Bob, the lead tech at ruf has done all the recernt work on it.
I even know the guy who owns it pretty well, used to do a bunch of work on the mercedes' and beemers he's owned.
I think he got tired of some teething probs ti has had.
Him and another guy bought a ex- Grand am cup corvette that they endurance race.

Yes I was wondering on the blue 'Esky' in the back too? That's what we put our beers into with ice down here to keep them cold.
Not so keen on the air filter sitting right behind the radiator but there is some nice stuff on that car. Looks like 914 front wheel fenders mixed in with 968 light moldings. Kinda weird. Like the Centerlocks.

Are you telling me that the lead tech at RUF is responsible for this car?

Did he do the engine mechanics?

I am going to investigate this one.

I dont know all the details, do know it has had more then one engine, Bob dosent like th e car to much, not really sure why, I guess when you keep having probs it can discourage you about anything. These guys dont love 44's because they are 44's. Although Bob has one that is a daily driver, but the owners want something that they think is more dependable. I do know the corvette they just bought blew the motor at twenty five hours of thunder hill.
The price is a smokin deal, I'm sure the owner has almost three times that in it.
I've seen it run and it is very fast. The owner intructed at a lot of DE's ive been to, it was usuallly the fastest car there. And the owner is an excellent driver, lot of experience in pro series'.

Part of the cool suit system. Very common for racers in warmer climates here.
The cool suit uses tubes to run cool water close to the driver. The blue 'Esky' is the cooler that is filled with ice that acts a heat exchanger for the system.

You don't own a racecar in TX without a coolsuit system in the car. And if you do, you know all about weight-loss during a race between June and August.

Yes it would be the same here too. It's about 80degrees here already and it's just gone 9am.
That car looks like a world of pain in some respects. Doesn't seem that Alois would be too happy to have his name associated with it I'm guessing...

In case it isn't immediately obvious to some of you guys as to why I bust ***** on these types of things....

Let's be honest - a car built by Ruf has additional value.

If you "insinuate" (I have never seen so much insinuation and passive/aggressive bull**** like I do on Rennlist) that a car is built by Ruf, that is FRAUD.
It is fraud because you gain value unethically.

I suspect that Alois would burn this car to the ground and stomp on the molten embers if he knew someone was using HIS NAME to sell it.

I may be wrong, but look at this car, then look at any real RUF car....

No f-ing way.

Molten embers???

I agree with everything above except the liquid hot magma comment.

Car was not built by ruf. From the ad I dont think they have insinuated in any way that it was, all it says is pre-owned. I know most of the staff, service manager, sales manager, shop foreman, techs, they are not trying to pass this off as some ruf built car. I'm sure some of the ways some things were that done are not to some peoples liking. Buy it and fix it, its still a great deal for all the parts and work that have gone into it.
