Replacing alternator with a rebuilt unit and need to add pulley, etc. What's the trick for removing these parts from old unit?

Thanks!

If you have a large set of water pump pliers (adjustible pliers) you can grab the OUTSIDE of the pully (not where the belt goes) and use a breaker bar or socket wrench. You may also be able to hold the fan on one of the fins... it'll bend some, but once you have it apart, you can bend the fin back.

Van et all,
Thanks, exactly what I wanted as I have not been able to get the pulley to budge, but wanted to be sure about using force.
