Notice a pattern here with our cars?
why would you have it charged in a shop when you can easily do it yours self

btw a 951 is NOT the same as the new porsches because the 951 doesnt need the computer to be on 24/7 like the newer porsches

I use one of these on my bike. It works great. http://www.batterytender.com/

Also, you can always just disconnect the battery. Its free! Or the quick disconnects.

I'm not sure how this 'information' helps anything... None of my VWs ever turned off the lighter socket for what it's worth, but -most importantly-, my 951 doesn't do it either.

My car used to be stored indoors under a cover (and over a Carrera GT!) with the tires over-filled and the trickle-charger hooked up. It always worked perfectly.
