the rod has a male end that is threaded into the female end on the rack, i think when i removed mine i just put the rack in a vise and unscrewed the rack with a wrench. be gentle though.

Move the boot back and on the inner ball joint of the tie rod you will find two "flats." Put a wrench over these flats and unscrew. There is also a metal lip that may be peened over into a grove on the rack itself. Sometimes it is helpful to lift this peen first. Other times it will lift by itself when you unscrew it.

One of my best Harbor Freight purchases..





Hard to tell, but the end of the black shaft has a square in it to fit a ratchet or breaker bar. Makes removing the tie rods a very simple process... no having to fuss with thin wrenches.

I did removed the passanger side, how do you remove the driver's side?

I believe they are actually standard thread both sides since they are interchangeable, no?

turn the steering shaft so that the drivers side is extended from the rack housing

You guys should invest in a 32/36mm open end wrench, grind them down till they are thin. Use them for the tie rods and the ride high spring plate.
