And to think... any one of us could own it

This dealer has had the car for quite a while (well over a year). I believe I saw a price in excess of $100k at one point. No price listed now.

Well spotted! Not sure what you'd do with it? I guess you could vintage race it, but what about parts. You would have to be a serious collector and fan of our cars to buy this. It looks ok in the pics, wonder how it runs?

If it won class at Le Mans, it would have to have some value; consider the price of a class winning 911-based car. Assuming it's around $100k still, I'd consider that a fairly good price - I don't know if the watercooled cars are ever going to "take off" in value - but race examples, especially those that competed (much less won class and placed overall) at Le Mans are always going to command a premium. I agree, though - you would have to be a serious fan of the series to shell out that kind of $$$. Just consider the plethora of other, probably more sound vintage Pcar investments in that range. That will be the stumbling block of all the 924s and 44s for a long time to come, though... the people who are willing to pay more money (thus driving up prices) probably won't be looking at the series to begin with.
An interesting comparison would be the values placed on the Le Mans 914s, as they represent a similar segment of the market.

Well said. I don't see them ever being really worth the money that they'd cost to buy and keep, especially if you used/raced them. Really just for a rich fan.
