I assume he means relatively speaking but I wonder what turbo they used? Must have measured spool with a calendar.

It probably made sense when the track basicly is a few turns and a long *** straightaway.. Crawl around the turns on the street tires aim and shoot.

Well yes that's how you set up many race cars, but what would the powerband have been like on that car? I would guess a mid 7k cutout so that is still a very narrow p/b. Just try and carry your corner speed, then plant it.

Since they managed to win with no 5:th gear the gearing must have been close.

think they had like 6.8:1 in CR, so offboost would suck

Wow, 6.8:1 is very low and Porsche don't usually use a lot of boost. Must look up the history of these cars a little more.

The boost guage on Lauda's 84 Mclaren goes up to 4.5 bar.

Well you better get yourself one of them there fangled gauges. I hear that's where you plan to sit your next motor on boostwise.
