Well I have the Powerhause K27/6 that came off my car. It needs a rebuild and I am torn between sending it off for a rebuild and selling it or offering it up as a rebuildable core?
What does the average turbo shop charge to go through a turbo?
IPSC

Okay, seriously, I couldn't resist. I would rebuild it, for under $500 you can't buy a new turbo that will perform nearly as well.

i did some shopping around for rebuild options when i broke my kkk as well, and found out that a kkk factory-certified rebuild that comes with a 1year full warranty costs around $700. considering you could get a brand-new kkk turbo for that price, i didn't see how a rebuild would be worth it. they might have made sense when these turbos sold for thousands, but with the new garrett dual ball bearing turbos being available, the kkk's are dying like the dinosaurs they are, and the price drops reflect this.
i've heard some horror stories about <$500 backyard kkk rebuilds.

They indicated they were able to rebuild KKK units as well, though I have not had one rebuilt.

Nize, or anybody, how much power do you think that k26/T04e hybrid would put down over a k26/8? I have pretty much the Lindsey 340hp package waiting at the house minus the sport turbo and I'm debating replacing the k26/8. Thanks.
