They run your auxiliaries at a lower speed so reduced losses. Slower alternator, power steering and ac. For track cars running at high RPM most of the time the slow running is just fine. For a street car charging, power steering and ac may be an issue when chugging around. I don't think they are legal in PCA stock.

I don't know the losses through the auxilliaries with the engine at 5-6K RPM maybe 10HP? Maybe underrunning saves 5hp?

The biggest gain is to ditch the power steering and AC. Some race cars run without an alternator and just a small batterry. That way you eliminate all the parasitic losses plus the weight of the equipment.

Now there are a set of lightweight pulleys and gears (BS and adj. cam gear) made by a guy, around $800 for a full set and have a dyno proven 13 hp gain. They also look great in black or red, he may have done a polished aluminum set as well.

I have a set from broadfoot. But I have used it with the AC delete. I would like to do the cam gear and counter balance gears too. Where can you get those?

What difference did it make to your car.??

Other than having some shiny bits of alloy on the end of your crank / auxilliaries.???

Or was it just that you had a "lighter wallet" at the end of it...???

My S2 doesnt have the AC, so its a start...

Ive heard + seen lots of stuff that looks good in principle, but does absolutely NOTHING to help the engine / car produce more usable power...So you could say , im a tad sceptical....
