I used to have a Fiat 500 or Bambino that had no syncro's and you had to double shuffle up and down. So with the straight cuts how do you engage or disengage without clutch release? Do you still engine match the rev's?

So I assume this is the sort of thing we're all talking about? Me likey!!!

I'll say it again strait cut is simply a kind of gear not gear box you can have strait cuts and syncros and it would drive the same or you can have strait cuts and dog tooth engagement and you can punch it into gear like a motorbike a synco helps the match the speeds and dogs don't they engage and disengage so with dogs i think you cant skip gears as you step through gear chain speeds . extreame rotaries had pic of the dogs.
so with a dog box you have to kind of rev match but dont have to use the clutch. you can shift through a normal sycros box with no clutch its just hard on the syncos

So I guess you could just switch out the gears in our trans to some straight cut ones. Just wonder how much it would be.
