FS: My '89 951
Guys and gals:
After 18 years of ownership (yes, I'm the original owner!), I am (reluctantly) putting my '89 951 up for sale. I've decided it's time for something new, so I just bought a new Cayman S. The Cayman is a fabulous machine, but that's a subject for a different thread. I'd love to keep the 951 but it's just not practical for me to have two Porsches.
This is a very clean, meticulously maintained, one-owner car, and probably one of the very best examples you will find. It has the Vitesse K26/8 MAF and is very strong and very fast. You can see my ad in Rennlist classifieds in the 944/951 section, but I'm also posting details here, plus additional photos.
The details:
Vehicle:
'89 944 Turbo
Price: $14,900
Mileage: ~91,000
Never tracked
No accidents
Black/black
Interior: very good, no dash cracks
Exterior: very good, (small paint pitting on nose, one small ding)
Power sport seats (leather)
Service history: Mobil 1 every 3000 miles since new, service records since new
Recent work: new timing belt and all accessory belts, new control arms, new CV joints
Nice COLD A/C (R-12)
OEM Club Sport forged alloy wheels (7x16" front, 9x16" rear)
Bridgestone S-03 tires (225/50/16 front, 245/45/16 rear)
Factory service manual
Modifications and upgrades:
Vitesse K26/8 MAF (www.vitesseracing.com)
Vitesse piggyback tuning module
Tial 38mm wastegate
Reliaboost manual boost controller
55 lb/hr injectors
Wideband A/F gauge (mounted in Lotek pillar pod)
VDO boost gauge (mounted in Lotek pillar pod)
Known issues:
Small PS hose leak (hose starting to seep but doesn't leave any drips), no other oil leaks
Stereo occasionally intermittent in one channel
Other documentation available on request:
Additional high-resolution photos
Pre-purchase inspection report by Auto Sport Engineering (www.autosportengineering.com)
Dyno charts

Unfortunately it's not likely to happen. It's a fair amount of work to return it to stock, and I don't even have all the stock hardware any more. Besides, I think I may already have a serious buyer who is interested in the car with the Vitesse MAF, although it is not officially sold yet...we shall see.

Wow nice car! I would sell both of mine to get my hands on this one. But I’m sure it’ll be gone buy that time. Good luck, that is a hard to find combination in a hard to find year.

I have just taken a deposit on the car, so subject to receipt of final payment the car is no longer for sale. Thanks everyone for all the replies! Rennlist is a great resource!!!!
