Thanks for the tips 333pg333. Love your modification list, its longer than your post!

Sadly, there are some "Type R" issues with the car. The red 944 badge visible on the side of the car in the first picture. There are also sticker marks on the other side of the car, and a few on the rear, where someone had stuck Porsche crests, so there is some glue to clean off. The front seats also have Porche crests stuck onto them, dead centre on the upper portion. Pretty sure that isn't original. Someone really wanted everyone to know they drove a Porsche.

The battery probably is a BMW unit, the last owner was a BMW guy too, and imported a 5 series at the same time he brought this car in.

Not sure what the EX is on the instrument cluster, anyone know?

Car will be a summer pleasure vehicle, hopefully with a little track use. Same purpose my 924 has served since I got that. I'll likely swap over the rollbar/harness/seat setup from my 924, I'm sure I'll feel naked driving "enthusiastically" without it.

Ya Chrenan, I know your 924 is twice as fast as mine was, but these 951's are scary quick! Totally different car. It is really living a dream every time you turn the key!

I've only driven the 951 twice, once on an extended test drive and once when I picked it up and dropped it off at the shop for its insurance inspection. Even in its less than perfect condition, and likely in need of some regular maintenance items (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, vacuum hoses, etc etc etc) it is still a very fast car. I'm hoping the serious snow will hold off long enough for me to drive it a few more times before it goes to bed for the winter.

Its funny, even with the updated dash, sitting in the 951 is similar to the 924. Pedal layout, gear stick, steering, everything feels so similar, even on the move the balance feels the same. Then you floor the happy pedal and its like a 924 on steroids and angel dust. Still love my 924, if I have to get rid of it I'll be sad to see it go.

A Typhoon, Syclone, or an Impala SS (po po/taxi version) are the only domestic cars I will ever consider owning. Period. Cars that actually looked cool and managed to handle as well. Braking was a little weak, interiors sucked, but styling was dead on, and performace is still great for the money.

every american car manufactured after 1970 is a pile of ****, the typhoon/cyclone may be fast but who cares when its so ugly it probably took them about 30 seconds to design the exterior/interior of that car but thats my opinion

Looking good, and I'm sure that LS is giving some serious grunt to the chassis. Nice to see long term ownership of 951s.
