I have an 86 951, Vitesse Chips, Manual boost enhancer and guru updated waste-gate. I had some issues with my aftermarket alarm a week ago (remote would not disengage alarm) and eventually disconnected the battery and back-up battery to reset the remote. Since such time I have experienced a stutter on acceleration in all gears almost like the shudder found in my early 944. If I press on the accelerator sometimes I can power through the stutter. Sometimes I get in and the car runs perfectly. Yesterday, however, the car started to stutter, I coasted in neutral to a stoplight and the rpms shot up ridiculously high. I drove further down the road and the RPMs kicked up high while I was accelerating (not in proportion to my foot pressure). Thankfully I was near home. I checked the throttle cable and it doesn't seem to be the problem. I am concerned it may be the fuel filter as sediment may have gathered while it sat a while b/c of the alarm issue - any other thoughts?
