Default Squeal on start up???

Ok here is a strange one. On start up I get a squeal from the front of the engine. I thought it was belts so I pulled the Alternator and Power steering belts off. Cranked it over and a loud annoying "SQUEAL" comes on just for a second and then the engine settles in a purrs like a kitten.

So in trying a couple of other things I noticed with a SLIGHT amount of throttle applied as the ignition is turned and the engine turns over, the Squeal is reduced to almost nothing or it does not occur.

What the HELL is that???

My fear is it is the stupid balance shaft belt or WORSE...

maybe the water pump is sticking causing the timing belt to slip?

Instantly and with out hesitation.

The car runs just fine after it starts and the 1 to 2 second finger nails on chalk board squeal.

Here is a small update. In the afternoon when it was warm the slight press on the gas pedal was almost eliminating it. Now it is in the high 30s, this trick does not work and now my AC / Alternator belt is slipping a bit?

Any ideas?

It must be the belt on the waterpump then.
You better check the cam belt tension.

Those belts tighten TREMENDOUSLY as the engine expands under heat, so you can see what's going on.

Ok, checked all the belts and they are all ok. Now I am thinking it is the starter... I drove down the road and shut the engine off while costing and then turned the key to the ON position and let out the clutch. NO squeal. I will pull the starter tomorrow and take it someplace to get it tested.
