Default dipstick tube spacer question

I finally got the spacer and o ring in the mail and cant figure out how the spacer is supposed to go on. It looks like my dipstick has it built in. were some 951s like that? Do i just put the seal without the spacer in my case? chris white would probably be the best one to answer this.

I think clarks has a write up about this. He notes there are two different kinds of oil dip sticks. I can't remember more than that but I would check it out.

You could have an N/A guide tube.

Normally the spacer sleeve, 944 107 329 00, should slide off the tube. It could be corroded so much that it looks like one piece. Once the spacer is off, just clean the lower part of the tube, and slide the new spacer on then the o-ring. Be sure to clean the oil pan area where the tube fits.

I replaced my spacer and o-ring without issues, but it’s an ’89 and somewhat clean underneath.

Ive come to a conclusion that its one piece. Maybe its an 86 thing? Both of my 86 tubes are the same way. Anyway I put it together with just the new seal and it looks good.

There are two different dip sticks. One needs the spacer, one has it built in. If yours is built in, no need for the spacer.
