Default Steering Shaft Squeaking

I have a squeak that is coming from below the dash which appears to be coming from the steering shaft. If I put upward pressure on the wheel it stops. It makes the noise while the wheel is stationary. Are there bushings surrounding the shaft that can be replaced? What does this entail?

I've just started to notice something similar to what you describe. At idle the wheel seems to vibrate quite a bit and at times will start to make a squeaking sound. If I put a bit of pressure on the wheel or accelerate, it'll stop. Were you ever able to resolve this yet? I was planning to remove the wheel to see if the steering wheel retaining nut just needed to be tightened, but figured I'd check the forum first before I go poking around.

I had a similar squeak and wondered the same thing. Not long after, I started getting a click/binding in the steering that I knew was coming from the intermediate steering shaft. Replacing the shaft also cured the squeak.
