Why does it take my car 5-10 seconds to build oil pressure?

oh, I guess they didnt make this car with a check valve for oil pressure....

I've just noticed that in my car not only oil pressure is low, but every red lamp is on for about 3 secs after starting, after that everything is ok.

if my car sits for a week or 2 between drives, I unplug the coil and crank it over until it builds pressure, then crank it and let it run like normal.

Better to unplug the relay so the fuel doesn't wash down the cylinders.
