Default Vac/Venturi Questions

see post #6

Hey, I'm just trying to double check what I've done so far:

If I have a tial, MBC, and no cycling valve should the lines go like this

AOS to J-boot (MAF pipe in my case)

ISV to fitting on intake closer to the front, other hose to TB to i/c pipe

Hole for CV plugged with m8 allen head plug

Brake booster to rear fitting on intake manifold

2 wastegate vac lines going to t splittler , to the banjo bolt on i/c to turbo pipe?
thanks
mike

also, on the fitting between intake manifold cyls 3/4 shows a line from the KLR and a line going to the fuel rail. Should I have the fuel rail vac line go straight from the BOV, to the fuel rail, then to the KLR?

Yes, that is the cycling valve.

Here's how I did it on my car (Using a Tial 38mm and LR MBC):

If you are doing a venturi delete I have that brand new S2 hose with the check valve if you need it....

That is not one line. It should be two banjo fittings pulling from the same vacuum source.

Hey, thanks for the responses. This is how it looks like the vac lines were routed.

edit: should the pink line go to the KLR?

The intake manifold is not installed yet, I wanted to get all this stuff together right before I put it on.

On the passenger side of the heat valve behind the cylinder head there is a brown plastic vac line, does anyone know what that hooks to?

The last thing I'm not sure about is why my boost gauge vac line (clear plastic) is in the engine bay thru the hole the DME/KLR go through. Shouldn't that be where the dme is?

when I bought the car the top 1/2 of the engine was in the trunk with most of the vac lines disturbed/removed and whoever had it put some good mods on, but looks like they didnt take much time to install everything 100% correctly..
I'm just trying to go off what was there and using the lindsay racing picture as a guide.

thanks

Ok, My car is a Turbo S with two vacuum ports between intake runners 3/4, so if there are slight variances, I apologize.

The clear line is for the KLR (your stock boost guage is controlled by the KLR). Did the PO run this line to an aftermarket boost guage?

The banjo fitting that you ask about attaches to the intake, right next to the banjo for the KLR.

Your MBC should be inbetween your boost pressure source and the side port of your Tial. (Anything you get from LR will be backwards because their wastegate is similar to the factory waste gate)

This picture was taken from clarks garage, and is for a regular 944 Turbo:

In that diagram the letter L goes to the KLR. I hope this helped.

I took the picture you posted and modified it. I'll have to post it up when I get home from work.

Yep, I just started my car yesterday and that is how I routed my vac lines. Everything is running great. Just be sure to get it right running thru the MBC, I've heard that can be a little confusing.

You should post some pictures of what you have. Maybe the PO had things hooked up a different way.

Get a Laust vacuum manifold (if he has any left) and then you won't have to deal with banjo bolts.
