Default On a COMPLETELY stock 951...

...when you "mat" the gas pedal and the boost builds, does the tacho-mounted boost needle go ALL the way to the right, or just PART of the way to the right?

My car's been chipped/modded since long before I bought it, so I'm just curious...

if i remember correctly, it should hit about 0.8 bar over ambient (roughly 1 bar). but the stock gauge isn't always calibrated after all these years.

On my Stock 88 Turbo S the boost gauge NEVER went all the way to the right or 2 Bar. Even after going to Weltmester chips it would not peg the gauge.

That's right.
Stock boost is 10.75 ( little higher on the S), so it shouldn't - all things functioning correctly.

If memory serves me correctly, even after the Weltmeister chips and wastegate shim it would only boost to 1.8 on the dash max.

Hmm, that is interesting. Ever since I installed an aftermarket guage I don't think I have ever looked at in on boost since then, so a little over 3 years. I might have to check that later, when I get my car back together. I THINK, my guage would go to about 2 bar with my upgrades and running 15/16psi but can't say for sure. Before any upgrades I wouldn't go to 2 bar on the guage, only like 1.7 bar-ish.

The stock boost gauge is not accurate. Do not trust it. That said....I would show ~.8bar boost on the stock gauge and actually show ~15psi on the Autometer with APE MAF/chips and 38mm Tial with test pipe.

That's just me and your mileage may vary.
