Default Lindsey DPW problems...

Hi all,

I have installed a Lindsey DPW a few years back, together with a MBC in the glove box.

It used to work well, and was happy with it, but I was planning to install a Tial 38 soon.
I am experiencing uncontrollable boost pressures, even with mild throttle openings. I pull off as I dont want to damage anything, as the boost reaches 1,5 bar (22psi ?) and then I lift off.

Today I checked ALL the hoses, vacuums etc, but nothing looks wrong.

Has anyone faced this or similar boost issues ?

Yes, I had exactly the same problem. I sent my wastegate back to Lindsey and they rebuilt it, and it works fine now. Possibly the diapgragm has ruptured.

I contacted Lindsey about that problem through email, and never got an answer. Not happy with their ignorance.

Did you send more than one email?

I am a big fan of LR, terrific support. e-mail or phone.

But... the DPW is a piece of junk. They only change the actuator, use an old valve.
Mine got stuck closed, real scary in a 100+ MPH track turn. Only a quick reaction saved the engine+ car.

Bought an Tial 38, happy ever after.

With the volume of email you never know. I am good friends with a vendor and I sit down and see the volume of email he receives all the time using his machine. I would send another email and if they don't respond try to call which I realize would be hard with the time change.

I have never had an issue with lindsey support or answering questions.

I agree with this entirely. The exhaust problems you will experience are minimal at best and the tial gates are a much better gate. I have a 38 which will be going on my car.
