Yes...it's me. Unfortunately, I have a date with the smog man and have taken everything off and put back the stock stuff. Once this ordeal is over, it's back to tuning. Thanks for the kind remarks.

I'm work'n on it. The damn SMOG MAN has got me by the boys right now. You can breath my exhaust but the CO is still too high (combustion chamber temp). Now that I know this, a little richer A/F and it should be there. And to think I was worried about the visual!
FYI- If you run one of those little "high flow" cats on your car here in CA, it might not be enough to pass. Since these are non EGR cars, the bigger the cat the better off you will be.

Can I ask what your clutch setup is like on the road in general day to day driving with some busy traffic too?

The clutch is a little choppy. You have to rev it up a bit to get going or else it chatters. Not the smoothest clutch in town. Down shifts from 3rd to 2nd & 2nd to 1st must be RPM matched or it chatters. I'm thinking of changing out the disc from the organic / metalic to straight organic. One thing is for sure...it doesn't slip.

CO = carbon monoxide, which is an indication of how rich your fuel mixture is. If your CO is too high then you are already too rich. NOx = oxides of nitrogen, which is an indication of combustion chamber temps.

Yes, you are correct. My bad.
Finally had to put some 109 octane in the tank. Passed with no problem. Now I get to put all the go-fast stuff back on and keep tuning toward that magical #400.
To be continued.........

I have seen others run real high octane to pass as well. How does that help?

Is it just a cleaner burn due to a more pure fuel??

The higher octane level lowers the cylinder head temps.
