Default Wirng Harness

Does anyone know where you can get a new wiring harness for an 86 turbo, or second posibility, has anyone assembled one for them themselves and has a "how to" DIY list of components & diagrams? Thanks

There was a guy who purchased all the parts to make a new harness. We has asking that you send your harness to him and he would make on that matched. I think the response was very low so I don't know if he will still do this. Do a seach, it was over a year ago.

I am rebuilding a spare one that I have at the moment. I am installing all the replacement harnesses that Lindsey Racing sells, and for everything else I am replacing anything questionable and thermal sleeving everything.

Colin, aside from the injector, knock & reference sensor harnesses what else are you replacing? Are you wrapping everything together like a stock harness?

I pulled out ALL the old wiring for the injectors, knock, and reference sensors. A lot of people just cut them off near the snorkel and poke a hole through the boot at the firewall and feed everything through that way. Like I said I bought a decent used harness so I have been able to pull everything out properly and snake the new stuff through the snorkel while it sits on my work bench. I have also cut off all the old plastic coverings and replaced any sections of wiring that were too brittle to reuse. Everything has been nicely bundled back together and I have thermal sleeved everything to match the LR stuff and also protect from the heat. I should be done with the whole thing tomorrow afternoon and installing it in the car. I will make a post with pictures etc. after I get it done.

I'd love to see what it all looks like once it's in. Did you go with a color on the sleeving? I have one other question...the wires that you replaced yourself, what gauge wire(s) are called out for the system? ...and did you re-use the existing connections? sorry, that was 2 questions. I'm leaning toward re-doing mine..my engine's being re-assembled and the old wiring harness looks fried!
