Default Total Parts Value?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to decide whether or not to part the 951 I picked up recently. After trying to figure out a low vacuum problem, I ran a compression test and I have 95-98 PSI across all four cylinders. It sucks but....

So, to all of you that have parted cars, approximately how much did you make after selling everything? How long did it take you to tear down all the parts? How long did it take you to sell everything?

Thanks,
Clint

Why not put another known good engine it. You obviously like these cars, don't part one for a bad engine. I believe Lart has a good engine for sale.

If they are all even, then I would suspect your test more than the engine. Is the guage known good? Is the battery fresh? Perform a leakdown test before you drop final judgement. Low vacuum is likely caused by any of a hundred other problems. IMHO of course.

You don't make money, you earn money. And it's pretty hard work.

A lot depends on how many parts you have are really nice, and how many little fiddly ones you want to sell.

If the rest of the car is in good shape it would probably be easier to get a motor from someone parting out a car and installing it. I hate to see good cars parted out for cash when they can be salvaged.

What year? 4500 +/- for 86-88 7k +/- for 88S -89.

its work though dude. and im not talking about pulling the parts off. Im talking about listing them, selling them, keeping track of them, boxing them, shipping them, etc. its a PITA.
