I think this is the turbo replacing the sport, might be wrong, but I doubt if there are any dyno numbers on it yet.

The vendor on turbo just listed as "Sport", which was popular in the 340 kit, is now gone...again, I think because I was going to put this on my bro-n-laws car but it's no more. I think this 53 replaced it but give them a call. However, the Super line up is expanding. I'm spec'g my Super 75 for the 3.0L project next week. Give Dave a call Monday - early, LOL!!!

I tried calling them right when I got off work today but its hard when they are done at 5PM and I get off work at the same time. I left them a message for them to call me. Will see..

I have one, but a couple weeks at least away from dynoing it. I talked to Dave and he told me that his supplier of his Sport turbos has raised his prices to about that of the Super line, and that the Super turbos are a little newer design. So since they are essential the same cost to him he decided to drop the Sport and add the 53 to the Super line.

And the obligatory cell phone pic:

Ski was how installation? Was it a true bolt on? I'm not looking for crazy RWHP #'s like most people here I just want a good streetable turbo that will spool quick. How does the seat of the paints dyno feel on this turbo?

Installation was pretty straight forward - true bolt on. Car's not running yet so I can give you any impressions yet. I'll let you know hopefully sometime in September.

How long does it take to spool up? What rpm do you get full boost? Does the intake manifold fit or do you needs spacers? I am guessing its not so good for street driving.

This is in a racecar that is still in pieces so I can't give you any driving impressions. The only mod you need to do to get it to fit its to countersink and use the included set screws for the throttle spring retainer. I went with the dry setup so I also had to install the included block-off plate on the water pumps, plug a port on the coolant reservoir and install the included bypass coolant hose - all easy to do.

This should be a terrific turbo on the street. It is the second smallest Super Lindsey sells and I have ridden in cars with the next bigger units - Super 61 and Super 65 and they were both a hoot. I went with the smaller turbo because I will be racing in NASA GTS which is based on hp/weight. I am limited to about 320 hp or I would have to add weight or jmup up to the next class, neither of which I want to do. I would guess you could make 325 - 350 rwhp with this turbo in conjunction with the typical bolt on mods without to much problem.

In the pictures of the two turbos, the one on the left is the super 58 right? Then what is the little guy next to it?

The one next to it is a T3/T4 with a #6 hotside. Its is pretty similar in size to a K26/6 which is why I used it in the picture.

I feel so small, the turbo in my picture is what I am running. Compared to the size of the super 53, it looks like a peanut. Mine is a turbonetics single ball bearing T04b, 57mm trim with stage 3 turbine wheel. Next to my old k26 it wasn't much bigger. The compressor inlet is 2.75in, so that was a bit bigger. But the 53 looks huge.
