Default Help - New plug wires won't seat/"Click"

Alright, I searched and came up dry, and I know I've read how hard it is to get new plug wires to seat into the plug well and "click", and now its happened to me ! :-)

Can anyone offer a tip of procedure you used to get them down in there good ? Lube the rubber connector, use leverage under the manifold to push down super hard, etc?

I did test on a plug outside the engine, and it worked fine with a good push and resulted in that satisfying "click", just can't get it all the way down on the installed plugs (same plugs too).

Thanks !

make sure you lube the inside and the outside of the Beru connector and it should slip right on. Use dielectric grease for the lube.

Thanks guys. I used the universal "spit" lube on the connector and it seemed to work better. I'll get some dielectric grease and do it right. I have not started the car yet, have other parts missing fron the motor at the moment and no front wheels, hopefully later this week I'll give it a try.

Yes, I understand the front wheels being attached is a real performance enhancer

Default My 2 cents

Aside from using the dielectric grease I used pair of bent tip needle nose pliers to lightly squeeze hold the top of the boot and push down. That seemed to work very nicely for getting them to "click" on to the plugs.
