What wastegate are you using? I'm guessing something along the lines of a lindsey club gate?? I would guess something just short of an act of God would make a stock wastegate perform like that.

my lindsey dual port held 15psi to redline.
After doing some research over the last 8 months or so, I'm honestly not very surprised by that.

I would be much more surprised to read that your K26-6 / dual port gate with manual boost controler spooled to 15psi peak at 3,x00 RPM and held 15psi flat to redline with no spikes and no drops.

It seems like a good EBC is your friend here.

I am actually pretty surprised that 944cs's car behaves the way his data shows. IIRC even the factory manual says that the car won't work that well with all factory parts. I know the chips are different, but its still pretty amazing that the stock wastegate is working that well.

old thread

My update - => Last September running at Bonneville I was surprised to find at the top of fifth no matter my ebc settings boost would fall off to about 12psi

possible due to altitude, possible due to failing seal in turbo.

I can not get mine to hold 15psi from 3000 rpm to 6500. No matter what I do, or where I set the boost, I always loose 3 psi by redline. If I set it to 18, I will have 15 at redline. I have a k26/8, shimmed wastegate, and a manual boost controller. Maybe if you have a good EBC, you've got a chance. My turbo was in excellent shape when I installed it, and my motor was fresh.

I was in the same boat. I'd loose 3psi by redline. But, I always ran 18-19psi.

I think the thread starters questions were more of people loosing more than 3psi by redline. I.E. guys going from 16psi to 11psi that sort of thing.

a 26/6 can hold 15psi to redline. You just need a healthy engine and turbo. Which I had both.

I have both a healthy engine and turbo. I rebuilt my engine very recently, and the turbo had zero shaft play when I installed it. I really think the compressor side of the turbo is too small to keep up with the engines appetite for air.
