Default '86 Turbo Dyno ...again

Perhaps some of you recall I dynoed my then stock '86 turbo last fall:

I then pulled the engine for a reseal. I added chips, gutted cat/3" catback, rebuilt the K26/6, wrapped the crossover, TiAL 38mm w/ LBC, 5-angle valve job, 3.0 bar FPR and a Fidanza flywheel.

Check out the AFRs. Way too rich, right? Why? Need more boost, different maps? I'm not much of a tuner.

I don't think correction was added for either run - now/then, and the temps were higher today by 30 degrees. On a cool day, I can get full boost by 2800RPM with the TiAL as indicated by the car's tach and an autometer gauge.

Superimposed now(blue)/then(green):

Seems VERY rich. I dont understand why you are only at 10psi of boost too at redline. I can hold up to 16ish psi at redline with a tial 38 and MBC. try turning up your boost controler to smooth out your boost curve. what spring does your tial 38 have? 1bar im guessing?

second though: you may have a good size exhaust leak. you car looks liek it is reading lots of air coming in and little is getting into the engine. check all vac lines and intake hoses/tubes.

You can hold 16psi to redline in 4th with a 26-6?

I would think a boost leak would make the tq curve look like the hp curve.

Here is my dyno chart. I have MAF but no valve job like you.

Run was at 15psi (15.3psi max) with a bad tune. this was a run while I was tuning on the mafterburner.

you can see that my tq curve is much more linear and was holding 15psi very well. I have had it up to 16-16.5ish psi in 4th at redline...

try turning up your boost controller for a run and see what your boost curve does. do you have a boost guage? just dont go too high...

a boost leak should make your hp line look flat since you will have a boost spike (lots of tq) in the middle and then the bost will fall off rapidly resulting in a rapid loss in tq.

Did the 88's have a 26/6? Did YOURS (JE_)when you dyno'd it? I not sure if your comparing apples to apples. My K26/6 couldn't hold more than 13 at redline. Neither can anyone elses I've seen on here. Sooo. I don't think that's the turbo you were dynoing and or the same one tyro has.

TYRO... Did you tell Russell that you had a 3bar FPR? EIther way though. Just send him your AFR's and he'll straighten it out for you.

Thanks!

I'd like to see someone else's sheet who runs a K26-6 @14-15psi and a stock intake.

I held 16psi to redline
